Shocking NY Train Attack: Stranger Sprays Mystery Substance on Mom and Baby — Cops Hunt suspect!

Woman and Infant Attacked with Unknown Substance on Queens Subway

A woman and her 11-month-old daughter were targeted on a Queens train when an unknown spray was directed at them, authorities reported.

Around 11 a.m., the 25-year-old mother was riding a southbound M train nearing the Court Square-23rd Street station. An unidentified man approached her and asked to use her cellphone. When she declined, he suddenly sprayed a mysterious substance — initially thought to be pepper spray — into her face and on her arm.

Some of the liquid also splashed onto the infant’s face and arm. Both mother and child were promptly taken to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital and are in stable condition, police said.

The attacker, described as slim with a black sweatshirt, fled the scene immediately after the assault. Despite efforts to locate him, he remained at large hours later.
