RHOC Star Katie Ginella Speaks Out on Jennifer Pedranti & Gretchen Rossi’s Anti-Asian Video
Controversy Erupts Over Racially Insensitive Social Media Video by “Real Housewives of Orange County” Castmates
Star of the reality series Real Housewives of Orange County, Katie Ginella, has publicly criticized her former castmates Jennifer Pedranti and Gretchen Rossi for sharing a social media video deemed racially offensive. Ginella, the first Asian American to join the show full-time, expressed her disappointment over the clip, which was swiftly deleted after garnering backlash.
The video features Pedranti and Rossi in workout gear inside a gym, mockingly mimicking martial arts and making stereotypical Asian vocalizations while squinting their eyes in a manner Ginella describes as offensive. The pair also lip-sync to Asian sounds, with Rossi attempting to imitate Asian physical features.
Ginella shared her feelings, revealing that the incident brought back painful memories of her childhood. She stated, “It’s very hurtful and inappropriate. It’s 2025, and I think we should read the room.”
Although Rossi claimed the video was not directed at Ginella and was removed once potential offense was recognized, the clip quickly spread online, inciting outrage and condemnation for its racist content. Social media users dubbed the behavior “cringe” and “tone-deaf,” calling out the pair’s actions.
While Pedranti has not publicly commented, Rossi stated, “The video was not meant to be hateful, and we removed it immediately once it was recognized as potentially offensive.” Pedranti also declined to respond to requests for comment. Ginella confirmed she is no longer friends with either woman, citing the incident as part of her emotional response.
This controversy highlights ongoing issues of racial insensitivity on social media and the importance of accountability within reality TV communities.
