Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath, died on July 22 at the age of 76. His family confirmed his passing in a heartfelt statement, revealing he was surrounded by loved ones at the time.
A recent death certificate, obtained by a major publication, confirms that Osbourne died from a cardiac arrest outside a hospital. The document also lists underlying health conditions: coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease, which Osbourne had been battling in recent years. He had previously dealt with the lingering effects of a severe quad biking accident in 2003.
Just days before his death, Osbourne performed at a Black Sabbath farewell concert. The band shared a tribute on their social media, calling their former bandmate “Ozzy Forever.”
Osbourne’s health struggles included a Parkinson’s diagnosis and mobility issues, yet his family insists he wasn’t near death. His daughter Kelly addressed reports of a supposed suicide pact between her parents, dismissing them as false. She emphasized that her father was not dying and clarified her mother’s past comments on the matter were to garner attention.
Throughout his life, Ozzy left behind a large family including his wife Sharon and children Aimée, Kelly, and Jack. From previous relationships, he also had Jessica and Louis Osbourne, and an adopted son, Elliot Kingsley.
A week before his death, his daughter Kelly took to social media to refute ominous AI-generated videos claiming her father was near death, expressing anger and disappointment over the false rumors.
His wife Sharon also revealed that they had once discussed traveling to Switzerland to seek assisted suicide, a plan they considered to avoid suffering. She explained her preference to avoid physical pain, stating, “Mental suffering is enough pain without physical.”
