Reuben Waithaka traveled from Kenya to Alabama to witness his grandson’s high school graduation, bringing heartfelt gifts and hoping to celebrate three generations of their family. Unfortunately, he vanished without a trace just a day after arriving in the U.S.

The morning after landing in Calera, Alabama, Waithaka was seen leaving his son’s home at 11:08 a.m., dressed neatly in khakis and a checkered shirt. Surveillance footage captured him walking into a nearby gas station roughly half an hour later. He interacted with a store clerk, then entered a restroom, and was never seen again.

Despite extensive searches by local authorities using helicopters, drones, tracking dogs, and infrared cameras, no definitive evidence of his whereabouts has been found. Search efforts continue in the surrounding woodland areas, but progress remains slow, and the mystery persists.
