4 Protesters Arrested at Chicago DHS Facility During Anti-ICE Protest
Protests and Arrests Outside Chicago ICE Facility Following Federal Court Ruling
On Friday, four individuals protesting anti-ICE policies were taken into custody during chaotic demonstrations outside a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) site in Broadview, Illinois. The arrests occurred after a federal judge temporarily blocked the deployment of National Guard troops to assist in immigration enforcement efforts, a move initiated by the former administration.
Violence erupted near the facility as Illinois State Police in riot gear clashed with protesters. Video footage circulating online shows officers using batons as they engage with protesters chanting “the whole world is watching.” Several demonstrators were physically restrained, with at least four being forcibly removed and later handcuffed, charged with resisting arrest and obstruction, according to local authorities.

The protests grew in intensity amid ongoing resistance to Trump’s immigration policies, especially since he launched “Operation Midway Blitz,” a campaign aimed at cracking down on illegal crossings in Chicago. Local officials and community members have repeatedly voiced opposition to the deployment of federal and state forces.
Amid the unrest, a video shows a DHS officer detaining Debbie Brockman, a local TV news producer, who is accused of assaulting a federal agent. She was eventually placed in a vehicle, which sped off, knocking into another car during the process.

Meanwhile, protests continue across Chicago, with demonstrators demanding an end to immigration enforcement practices they view as unjust. The discord follows a district court’s order that temporarily halts the National Guard’s involvement, citing concerns over local authority and legal procedures.
