Taylor Swift Addresses Engagement Rumors & Selena Gomez’s Wedding Buzz

Taylor Swift Debunks Rumors During TV Appearance

During her appearance on “The Tonight Show,” Taylor Swift addressed recent online rumors about herself. She promoted her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, and shared her excitement about her fiancé, Travis Kelce.

Host Jimmy Fallon challenged Swift to reveal which of five circulating rumors was true. The first was that she declined to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show because the NFL wouldn’t let her keep the footage. The second involved her friend Ed Sheeran learning about her engagement via Instagram. The third claimed she joked Selena Gomez beat her to the altar at Gomez’s wedding. The fourth was that she was seen walking a mysterious dog in Florida. The fifth alleged Kelce was heard harmonizing on her new track Opalite.

Swift confirmed that the second rumor about Ed Sheeran was true: “He doesn’t have a phone,” she explained. She also clarified that the rumor about Selena Gomez beating her to the altar was false, stating, “It’s not true. I did give a speech, but I didn’t mention my engagement — I teased about how we met in 2008 and my happiness for her.”

This interview marked her second TV presence following her performance on The Graham Norton Show. She recently announced her album during her debut on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, just before his surprise proposal at his garden estate in Kansas. Swift praised Kelce’s effort, calling the surprise “a perfect 10 out of 10.”
