Nas & Dr. Dre at Cote Vegas Grand Opening
Hip-Hop Icon Nas Celebrates Grand Opening of Cote in Las Vegas
Celebrating a legendary career and past hip-hop rivalries, Nas attended the opening of the new Vegas location of the renowned NYC steakhouse Cote. The event took place at the Venetian Resort, which has recently undergone a $1.5 billion transformation.
Nas co-hosted the celebration, which featured a luxe party with showgirls, roaming magicians, a claw machine, and exclusive dishes. The night was especially meaningful for restaurateur Simon Kim, who began his hospitality journey working at his family’s Tribeca eatery and studied in Vegas. Kim’s rise includes managing at MGM Grand, working for celebrity chefs, and earning a Michelin star for Cote, which debuted in Manhattan in 2017 before expanding globally.
The Vegas spot offers signature items like an exclusive “Blackjack” sandwich with A5 Wagyu beef — a coveted reservation, of course. The festivity was presented by Resy, and stars such as Dr. Dre, Anderson .Paak (who performed a DJ set), and designer Laura Kim made appearances.
Dr. Dre also showed support, congratulating Kim and the team, while other notable attendees included architect David Rockwell, Chloe Flower, Soo Joo Park, and Shin Lim. The celebration reflected Old Vegas glamour with showgirls, cigarette girls, and vibrant party energy.
Kim, who previously led the Cosmopolitan to a record sale, expressed pride in the new venture, stating: “Cote Las Vegas embodies the bold, high-energy experience we aim to bring to the resort. Our design, cuisine, and style align with the vision of redefining dining on the Strip.”
The Vegas location features standout dishes, including a rare Wagyu sandwich. The event also included entertainment like a DJ set by Anderson .Paak and a luxurious claw machine, capturing the essence of classic Vegas nightlife.
