Kylie Kelce Breaks Down After Learning About Past Miscarriage on Jason’s Birthday
Kylie Kelce Shares Heartbreaking Story of Her Past Miscarriage
In a candid discussion during Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, Kylie Kelce opened up about discovering her miscarriage in 2018, which coincided with her husband Jason Kelce’s birthday. She tearfully recounted how she found out her pregnancy had ended unexpectedly after a routine appointment.
She explained that during her 13-week check, doctors couldn’t detect the baby’s heartbeat, which was a shocking moment for her. “It felt like everything slowed down,” she recalled. “They couldn’t find the heartbeat, and they estimated the pregnancy had stopped developing between nine and ten weeks.” She described her experience as a missed miscarriage, where the body doesn’t realize the pregnancy is no longer viable.
This loss was particularly difficult because she chose to keep her pregnancy private until after 20 weeks with her other children, citing the high rate of pregnancy loss to explain her cautious approach. Kylie and Jason, who married in April 2018, made a special effort to share their first pregnancy news with family only after milestones were reached, recording many moments along the way.
She also revealed the emotional toll of learning that her baby’s heartbeat was absent, which she described as slow-motion moment. Kylie explained she repeatedly checked online to understand the likelihood of her baby surviving, even researching weekly for Finn, her youngest child.
Despite the immense pain, Kylie expressed her hope to support others facing similar losses, emphasizing the importance of having understanding people around and maintaining open dialogue with healthcare providers. She concluded her story with empathy for women who’ve experienced pregnancy loss, acknowledging that such pain leaves a lasting mark but should be met with compassion and support.
