A-List Celebrity Backs Out of Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s Star-Studded Wedding
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s Wedding Will Leave Out a Major Celebrity Guest
The upcoming wedding of Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco will be missing a prominent A-list attendee. Meryl Streep, who starred alongside Gomez in Only Murders in the Building and has been romantically linked with co-star Martin Short, was invited but has now declined the invitation.
An insider revealed that Streep intended to attend but informed Gomez that she could no longer make it, though no specific reason was given. It’s believed her absence is due to her commitments with filming the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada in New York City.
Reps for Gomez and Streep haven’t responded to requests for comment. Meanwhile, the wedding is set to be a star-studded affair, with Gomez’s co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short expected to attend. Gomez’s close friend Taylor Swift, also confirmed on the guest list, is planning to attend solo because her boyfriend Travis Kelce has a game the following day.
The ceremony is scheduled for this Saturday at a private estate in Santa Barbara, California, with guests staying at the luxurious El Encanto hotel, where rooms cost $3,500 a night. The couple, aged 33 and 37 respectively, became engaged in December 2024 after a year of dating and are preparing to tie the knot in a private celebration.
Guests will be whisked to the venue secretly, adding an air of mystery to the event. An insider shared, “Everyone is excited despite the secrecy, knowing it will be an incredible experience.” Gomez artfully announced their engagement on Instagram with the caption, “forever begins now,” after receiving a marquise-shaped ring from Blanco.
