RFK Jr. Aide Fires Off in Car Crash After Sudden Dismissal
Firing Sparks Unexpected Car Incident and Turmoil at HHS
Hannah Anderson, a former deputy chief of staff for policy at the Department of Health and Human Services, experienced a stressful reaction after losing her job last month. In her distress, she accidentally reversed her car into the vehicle of Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., shortly after receiving the news of her dismissal.
The incident occurred on July 16, just six months into her role, amid reports of widespread instability within the department. Anderson, who previously worked with the America First Policy Institute, was reportedly overwhelmed upon learning about her termination, leading to the reckless act.
The Department of Health and Human Services has been experiencing significant turnover recently. Notably, Dr. Vinay Prasad, former Director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, was dismissed less than three months into his tenure amid criticism from conservative activists but was reinstated after Kennedy intervened. Additionally, CDC Director Susan Monarez was removed from her position shortly after being appointed, reportedly following an ultimatum from Kennedy to resign or face termination, a White House official confirmed.
Overall, these events highlight a period of instability and internal conflict at HHS, driven by internal disagreements and changes at the leadership level.
