Cardi B Jury Reaches Verdict in C:iv:il Assault Trial

Cardi B Cleared of Assault in Civil Case

Rapper Cardi B has been declared not liable in a civil lawsuit stemming from an incident in 2018, where she was accused of injuring a security guard. A Los Angeles jury unanimously decided she should not pay any damages in the $24 million case brought by the former security personnel.

The artist, who denies physical violence, testified that she did not engage in a fight, citing her pregnancy and the size difference with the accuser. She claimed that she and the security guard, Emani Ellis, argued after she was recorded without her permission during a medical visit, which she found invasive.

Ellis initially sued Cardi B in 2020, alleging injury during a physical confrontation. However, Cardi B countersued, stating that the dispute was verbal. She also claimed that Ellis had violated her privacy by recording her while she was pregnant with her first child, Kulture. Ellis accused the rapper of scratching her face with her fingernail, but medical testimony from her OB-GYN indicated no such physical strike was observed.

Earlier in the day, Cardi B reacted emotionally to questions about pregnancy rumors circulated by her estranged husband, Offset. She was caught on camera throwing a marker at a paparazzo and criticizing his disrespectful questions about her personal life, asserting her right to privacy and dignity.

It is noteworthy that Cardi B was also sued in July over an incident where she allegedly threw a microphone in Las Vegas in 2023. Despite the legal challenges, she remains a prominent figure in the entertainment world.
