Taylor Swift’s Ring Designer Thanks Fans with ‘Speak Now’ Lyric

Jeweler Behind Taylor Swift’s Engagement Ring Shares Her Journey

Kindred Lubeck, the talented artisan who co-designed Taylor Swift’s breathtaking engagement ring, recently shared her story and gratitude in an Instagram video. The Florida native, founder of Artifex Fine, expressed her excitement about this pivotal moment and thanked fans for their ongoing support.

“Hello! I’m Kindred Lubeck, 30 years old. I started making jewelry in 2019 when I was 25,” she said. She highlighted her background, revealing she is the daughter of a goldsmith and initially pursued a degree in psychology from Florida State University before working briefly in law. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she learned the craft from her father, which eventually led her to establish her own jewelry brand in NYC in 2024.

Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine, who helped craft Swift’s ring, confirmed her role in creating the unique piece.

Her design features a vintage old mine brilliant-cut diamond, a rare antique stone with a cushion shape and 58 facets, chosen partly because the number 13 is Swift’s favorite. The yellow gold band is meticulously engraved by hand, showcasing her signature craftsmanship, with some fans speculating they spot an initial “T” carved into the ring.

The intricate detail work on Swift’s yellow gold band reflects Lubeck’s expertise in hand engraving, which she describes as tattooing metal.

While the exact value of the ring remains private, experts estimate it could be worth up to $1 million, considering the size and quality of the center stone. Lubeck emphasized her independence in creating this piece, saying, “I was able to do this without any financial help, through hard work and dedication.”

“I cut metal with small, sharp instruments into detailed designs,” Lubeck explains her craft process.

Her journey from a psychology graduate working at a law firm to a renowned jewelry designer demonstrates her resilience and passion. Now celebrated for her hand-engraved pieces, Lubeck credits her success to hard work, dedicating her craft to those who believed in her from the start.
