Powerball Jackpot Grows to $1.3 Billion After No Winner

No one matched all the winning numbers in Monday’s Powerball drawing, causing the jackpot to increase to $1.3 billion, making it the fifth-largest in the game’s history.

The winning numbers announced were 8, 23, 25, 40, 53, with the Powerball number 5.

Since no ticket matched all numbers, the jackpot rolled over to an estimated $1.3 billion for the upcoming Wednesday night drawing.

Players now have the chance to win a huge prize, with the option of taking a one-time lump sum payment of approximately $589 million (before taxes) or annual payments exceeding $5 million over 30 years.

Lady Luck has been elusive for Powerball players this year, with the last jackpot winner claiming the prize on May 31. The recent drawing produced two $2 million winners and ten $1 million winners, including two in New Jersey and one in New York.
