Premier League Club Nears £35m Loan & Purchase Deal for Harvey Elliott from Liverpool
Premier League Club Nearing Loan Deal with £35 Million Obligation to Buy Harvey Elliott from Liverpool
Aston Villa is close to finalizing a season-long loan transfer for Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott, with an agreement in place that includes a £35 million obligation to purchase him next summer.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who has extensive Premier League experience, has been uncertain about his future at Liverpool throughout the summer. Although RB Leipzig initially showed interest in Elliott, Villa’s move is now the leading option after their negotiations progressed.
Elliott has previously expressed a desire to advance his career, emphasizing that he doesn’t want to waste precious years in his professional journey. He stated, “I’m at an age where I want to improve and become the best player I can be. If moving elsewhere helps, I’ll consider it.”
Despite his affection for Liverpool, Elliott acknowledged the need for decisive career moves, hinting at his openness to new challenges. He recently appeared as a substitute in Liverpool’s Community Shield loss to Crystal Palace, missing a penalty during the shootout, and contributed minutes in a victory over Newcastle at St James’ Park.
However, he did not feature in Liverpool’s recent win against Arsenal, suggesting he may have played his final game for the Reds before transitioning to Aston Villa.

Having expressed his ambition to develop further, Elliott is now contemplating the next step in his career, with a move to Aston Villa looking imminent.
