Josh Duhamel’s Doomsday Cabin Nearly Ready for Apocalypse

Josh Duhamel Prepares a Doomsday Cabin in Minnesota

Josh Duhamel has shared that his secluded cabin in Minnesota is nearing completion, designed as a refuge for possible apocalyptic scenarios. He estimates that it’s about 70% ready, with some skills like hunting and fishing still to hone.

The actor revealed he still needs to improve his survival skills and stockpile supplies, admitting, “I could be a better hunter, I could be a better fisherman. I could stockpile a little more food.”

On his land, Duhamel constructed a fully livable cabin, now equipped with amenities like a water filtration system and Starlink internet, making it suitable for sustained living. He also added that the home “feels done” and is fully functional after a period without electricity or running water.

“That’s really what it’s about for me,” he said, emphasizing the importance of getting back to the basics. For him, the project is an opportunity to reconnect with family, friends, and simpler pleasures, moving away from the luxuries of modern life.

Earlier this year, Duhamel explained his move from Hollywood to this remote setting, describing it as a response to a calling he felt to engage in hands-on work and live more authentically. His cabin is located about an hour and a half outside Fargo, North Dakota, reflecting his desire to prioritize family and self-sufficiency.

Duhamel, who shares two sons—Axl with ex Fergie and Shepherd with his wife Audra Mari—recalled feeling a calling to return to basic living. His cabin includes custom features like a water filtration system and reliable internet, illustrating his focus on sustainability and preparedness.

“We get so accustomed to all these luxuries and amenities, and I think that’s what this is for me — to enjoy the simple things in life, like family and making memories,” he explained.
