Raphinha Wins Two Sofascore Player Awards—Who Took Home Premier League’s Top Prize?

Raphinha Wins Double Awards at Sofascore Player of the Season Ceremony

At the inaugural Sofascore Player of the Season Awards, Barcelona winger Raphinha was recognized with two major honors. He secured both the La Liga and UEFA Champions League awards, celebrating his impressive performances across the season.

Raphinha played a key role in Barcelona’s successful campaign, netting 18 goals and providing nine assists in 36 league matches to help the team win La Liga. Additionally, he contributed significantly to Europe with 13 goals and eight assists in 14 Champions League games, as Barcelona reached the semi-finals under coach Hansi Flick.

The awards ceremony took place in Zadar, Croatia, during the Sunset Sports Festival and was streamed on CBS. Unlike traditional awards that rely on votes, the winners were selected based on Sofascore’s detailed statistical ratings, which account for every pass, goal, tackle, and mistake throughout the season.

Other notable winners included:

  • Premier League: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) with a rating of 7.78, who became the fifth player to win the award twice and also collected the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year titles.
  • Bundesliga: Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich) with a rating of 7.91.
  • Serie A: Mattia Zaccagni (Lazio) with 7.34.
  • Ligue 1: Achraf Hakimi (PSG) with 7.76.

Luka Modric, now at AC Milan after a stellar career at Real Madrid, received the first-ever Founders’ Legend Award for his long-term influence in football.

The event was hosted by Kate Scott and Peter Schmeichel, with notable guests including Dimitar Berbatov and UFC champion Stipe Miocic. Billboards celebrating the winners were displayed across several European cities, including Liverpool, Barcelona, and Munich, to honor their achievements.
