Norman Reedus’ Son Threatens After Assault Arrest
Mingus Reedus, Son of Norman Reedus, Questions Life Amidst Arrest
Mingus Reedus, the 25-year-old son of actor Norman Reedus and model Helena Christensen, recently made a shocking statement shortly after his arrest for alleged assault. While outside his NYC apartment, he turned to a reporter and asked, “You want to watch me kill myself?”
He was dressed in the same clothes from his court appearance the previous day, carrying his cat in a bag. Visuals show Mingus walking in the same green shorts and black T-shirt he wore during his arrest.
His arrest stemmed from an incident at a Manhattan residence where officers responded to a call about a woman threatening suicide. Police reports allege Mingus punched his girlfriend in the leg, causing redness, then choked her and slammed her to the ground. He faces charges including assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, reckless physical injury, and harassment.
The court arraigned Mingus on Saturday night on the new charges, which include second-degree harassment and aggravated harassment. He has pleaded not guilty and is currently ordered to stay away from the victim.
Mingus’s attorney, Priya Chaudhry, indicated the young man was concerned for his girlfriend, stating that he ended their five-month relationship, which allegedly led her to take sleeping pills in a suicide attempt. The victim has reportedly moved out and expressed no interest in pressing charges or continuing the case.
Norman Reedus, who separated from Helena Christensen when Mingus was four, maintains a friendly co-parenting relationship with her. Reedus, known for his role in “The Walking Dead,” has been engaged to actress Diane Kruger since 2021 and they share a daughter, Nova, born in 2018.
