Lil Nas X Detained and Hospitalized Following Erratic Behavior

Prior to his near-naked hospital stay and arrest, the rapper was seen acting strangely in Los Angeles. Surveillance footage captured Lil Nas X, dressed casually in a cowboy hat, button-up shirt, jeans, and boots, wandering around a hotel where he was not a guest. He appeared agitated, fan himself, and later sat on a bench removing his shirt after grabbing water from the lobby.

The artist, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was also filmed walking through the hotel’s courtyard. At about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, he was seen aimlessly wandering, fanning himself, and ditching his shirt, with some reports indicating he seemed disoriented.

By early Thursday morning, Lil Nas X was found in a much different state, having stripped down to only his underwear and shoes, with an orange traffic cone atop his head. Eyewitnesses reported he appeared to be heading to a party but was behaving erratically.

He was taken into custody after allegedly punching a police officer twice, and hospitalized over a suspected overdose.

Police approached Lil Nas X around 5:50 a.m. and claimed he charged at officers. He was subsequently detained, with reports stating he punched a cop twice. He was booked on a misdemeanor charge of battery on a police officer and transported to a local hospital, where he remains in custody.

By 6 a.m., the rapper had stripped to just his underwear, with authorities confirming his detention.

Earlier, Lil Nas X posted several unconventional images on Instagram, depicting art, furniture, and himself in various outfits, one captioned humorously about his mental state. The performer has yet to comment publicly on the incident. He is currently held at Van Nuys Jail, facing charges related to his conduct during the arrest.
