Gov. Josh Shapiro Slams Trump Over Voting Attacks

Pennsylvania Governor Responds to Trump’s Election Threats

Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania has long clashed with former President Donald Trump over election procedures and voting rights. He was among the key state attorneys general who challenged Trump’s unfounded claims and conspiracies regarding the 2020 election’s legitimacy.

When Trump announced plans to issue an executive order aimed at altering voting methods, Shapiro was quick to counter. Speaking at an event in Harrisburg, he stated:

“Donald Trump can sign any executive order he desires, but he cannot alter the Constitution. The Constitution grants states the authority to determine their own election rules.”

This response underscores the legal limits of executive powers concerning election legislation and reaffirms the principle that voting procedures are principally managed at the state level.
