Love Wins Amidst Anti-Israel Protest

Queens Couple Wed Amid Rowdy Anti-Israel Protest

Nicole and Richard Uraga, both 30, married at the iconic New York Public Library in Bryant Park, defying a large crowd of over 700 anti-Israel demonstrators gathered outside. Despite the noise and chaos—marked by signs, chants, drums, and loud music—the couple proceeded with their wedding plans.

The groom remarked, “When we exited, the protest was in full swing with banging and shouting, but nothing can stop love.” The couple had entered the library, exchanged vows, and then stepped outside to celebrate their union standing near the bustling protest.

As they took wedding photos on the steps, protesters chanted “From the River to the Sea,” banging pots and pans in protest. Still, the newlyweds remained unfazed, emphasizing their commitment to their special day despite the surrounding tumult.

“We didn’t let the protest interfere with our wedding day,” Nicole stated firmly. The couple, who have been together for over 11 years and planned this day months in advance, kept to their schedule, including hiring a photographer and officiant for their ceremony on August 16.
