Melania Trump Threatens $1B Lawsuit Against Hunter Biden Over Epstein Links
Legal Threats Over False Claims Linking Melania Trump to Jeffrey Epstein
Melania Trump’s legal team recently issued a warning to Hunter Biden after he allegedly made defamatory statements suggesting she was introduced to her husband by Jeffrey Epstein. In a demand letter, her attorney, Alejandro Brito, demanded that Hunter immediately retract his claims and issue a formal apology, warning of potential legal action seeking over $1 billion in damages if he fails to comply by August 7.
Hunter Biden claimed during an interview that Epstein introduced Melania to Donald Trump, a statement Brito describes as false and harmful. The lawyer emphasizes that Hunter has a pattern of trading on others’ names for personal gain and accused him of making these statements to attract attention. Melania’s attorneys previously fought similar false claims in other outlets, leading to a retraction and apology from the Daily Beast last month.
The controversy intensified after Hunter’s remarks on a YouTube show, where he spoke about complex connections involving Epstein, author Michael Wolff, and others, which Brito labeled as numerous fabrications.
In addition to Hunter Biden, political commentator James Carville also apologized publicly last week after suggesting a potential Epstein connection to Melania on his podcast. He removed the comments and expressed regret for his earlier statements.
Melania Trump previously recounted that she met Donald Trump at a Fashion Week event in 1998, describing her initial attraction and their subsequent engagement and marriage in 2005, insights shared in her memoir. The ongoing legal maneuvers aim to protect her reputation from unfounded allegations circulating online and in the media.
