Dems’ SC Gov Candidate Arrested in Underwear, Calls Himself God & Superman — Wild Video

Gubernatorial Candidate Arrested in Bizarre Incident

Recent dashcam footage has surfaced showing William “Mullins” McLeod, a Democratic contender for South Carolina governor, during a highly unusual arrest. The married father of four was found in his underwear, shouting, and making provocative statements, including references to himself as both God and Superman. The video captures his refusal to cooperate with police, threats against political opponents, and use of offensive language, including the n-word.

The incident occurred in downtown Charleston, where officers reported that McLeod appeared intoxicated, with bloodshot and dilated eyes. He refused to give his name, instead claiming to be Superman, and declared, “It doesn’t matter, my friend, trust me,” when questioned by officers. He also threatened political foes and refused to exit the patrol car, asserting he would sleep there during his arrest. He was eventually booked into jail for misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

McLeod for South Carolina launched his campaign earlier this week.

During his confrontation with police, McLeod declared his arrest unlawful, claimed to be exercising his constitutional rights, and expressed hope that the public would understand his situation. His campaign team has yet to comment publicly, but his party leadership is calling for him to withdraw from the race, citing the need for him to focus on his well-being.

South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Christale Spain emphasized that McLeod should prioritize his health over candidacy, especially after reviewing the dashcam footage of his arrest. McLeod, who previously ran unsuccessfully for governor and served as Charleston County Democratic Party chairman, is facing charges related to disorderly conduct.
