Taylor Swift Announces New Album ‘Life of a Showgirl’ on ‘New Heights’ Podcast

Taylor Swift Announces New Music Release

During a surprise appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights,” Taylor Swift made a groundbreaking announcement: she is releasing new music. She revealed her upcoming album titled “The Life of a Showgirl.”

Swift’s announcement came alongside the news that she purchased back the rights to her first six studio albums—“Taylor Swift,” “Fearless,” “Speak Now,” “Red,” “1989,” and “Reputation”—in May. She expressed her joy, sharing in an Instagram handwritten note: “All of the music I’ve ever made … now belongs… to me.” She described feeling overwhelmed with emotion and excitement, noting, “I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found that this is really happening.”

Swift expressed her happiness after reclaiming her music rights, including her concert films and unreleased tracks.

She emphasized that she now owns “the memories, the magic, the madness, every single era, [and her] entire life’s work,” including her music videos, album art, photography, and unreleased songs. She also shared plans to release vault tracks when the time feels right, mentioning she re-recorded her debut album, “Taylor Swift,” and loves its current sound. However, she has yet to finish re-recording her 2017 album, “Reputation.” She hinted these albums might re-emerge in the future if fans are excited.

Swift also revealed she re-recorded and released four albums she previously lost rights to, retitled as “Taylor’s Version.” Her recent music projects follow reports of her working on a top-secret new venture post her record-breaking Eras Tour. An insider noted she was filming a new music video in Los Angeles, with the set being so confidential that even crew members couldn’t hear the song, only the beat.
