Kelly Clarkson Cancels Las Vegas Residency Again
Kelly Clarkson Cancels Remaining Vegas Residency Dates in August
Pop icon Kelly Clarkson has unexpectedly canceled her scheduled performances for the rest of August in her Las Vegas residency. She announced the postponement via an Instagram post, citing health concerns linked to her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who has been experiencing health issues.
Clarkson stated, “While I usually keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill, and I need to be fully present for my kids right now.” She shares custody of two children with Blackstock: River, 10, and Remington, 8. She apologized to fans who had purchased tickets and expressed appreciation for their understanding, noting that her next scheduled shows are set for November 2025.
The singer’s recent cancellations add to the rollercoaster of her Vegas residency, which initially began with a postponed opening over Independence Day weekend due to vocal strain. Clarkson explained on July 4 that her voice had been strained from rehearsals and that she was taking time to rest, emphasizing her goal to deliver a high-quality performance for her audience. Reports suggest she was battling personal challenges that contributed to the cancellations, including emotional and physical distress.
Her tumultuous relationship with Blackstock has been highly publicized. They divorced in 2020 after seven years of marriage, with a legal battle over their Montana ranch, custody arrangements, and spousal support. The couple finalized their divorce in 2022, with Clarkson gaining primary custody and paying Blackstock $115,000 monthly spousal support until January 2024.
Despite the setbacks, Clarkson remains active in her career. Her residency at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum was scheduled to end in mid-November, and she continues to engage with her fans, including candidly discussing her personal life and dating experiences during her shows.
