Lamine Yamal Mural Vandalized After Controversial Birthday Party
Vandalized Mural of Barcelona Player Sparks Controversy
A mural celebrating Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has been defaced, with graffiti referencing dwarfism. The artwork, which depicted Yamal as Superman with an ‘L’ on his chest, was unveiled last month to mark his 18th birthday.
Initially thought to be damage caused by accident, it was later confirmed that the mural was intentionally altered, as shown in photos taken by journalist Edu Polo. The vandalism included images of the Seven Dwarfs from the fairy tale Snow White.
The mural’s defacement drew attention following reports of a controversial party held for Yamal’s birthday, which involved images of dwarves and scantily clad women supposedly paid to attend. Criticism arose over accusations that the event exploited individuals with dwarfism and involved paid attendance for women based on specific physical features.
At the celebration held at a private estate with a Mafia-themed setting, allegations emerged that organizers sought to hire 12 blond women with particular breast sizes for up to 20,000 euros, requiring them to be present for 24 hours without disclosure of the event location. Spanish model Claudio Calvo, a former Miss Teenager Spain and Miss Teenager Europe, claimed she was approached to attend but withdrew after reviewing the demands, which included specific physical criteria.
In response to these events, a government official emphasized the importance of enforcing laws equally, warning that the behavior demonstrated a disregard for accountability and setting a poor example for young fans. Calls have been made for an investigation into the incident and the activities surrounding the celebration.
