Bryan Kohberger Sends Eerie Heart Picture to Lawyer After Sentencing

Bryan Kohberger Displays Mysterious Heart Drawing During Sentencing

Immediately after being sentenced to life in prison for the murders of four University of Idaho students, Bryan Kohberger was seen giving one of his attorneys a chilling black heart drawing. The drawing was placed on the defense table during his high-profile sentencing hearing in Boise. Kohberger did not react to or acknowledge the artwork during the lengthy impact statements from victims’ loved ones.

Photos show Kohberger with the heart sketch in front of him, along with a handwritten note on the back of the paper. After the proceedings concluded, an attorney was seen collecting the drawing. She appeared to question Kohberger about it before smiling and taking the piece of paper. The content of their exchange remains unknown. The artistically simple sketch and note have sparked curiosity about its significance.

Following the session, a prosecutor noted that the drawing was the first he had heard of it. Kohberger, who did not speak at his sentencing after a last-minute plea deal avoided the death penalty, was convicted of killing Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin at their off-campus residence in 2022.
