NFL Rookie Travis Hunter’s Dad Arrested in Florida for Probation Violation

Father of NFL Rookie Travis Hunter Arrested for Probation Violation

The father of NFL rookie and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter has been taken into custody after violating the conditions of his probation. Travis Hunter Sr., who is currently under probation for past gun and drug charges, was detained in Palm Beach, Florida, following an incident involving his electronic monitoring device.

On June 28, the monitoring system issued an alert when Hunter Sr.’s bracelet went offline for approximately 11 minutes. When contacted, he claimed he was in his bedroom while the device was in the living room. A few days later, he explained he had misplaced the monitor while searching for it. Despite testing the device on July 4 and confirming its proper functioning, authorities say Hunter Sr. failed to adhere to the monitoring requirements.

He was subsequently arrested at the West Palm Beach jail and is held without bond. Court records indicate that he violated his probation by failing to submit to electronic monitoring, a condition mandated by his earlier sentence.

The 39-year-old Hunter Sr. had previously been arrested in November 2023 during a traffic stop in Palm Beach County, where officers found guns and drugs in his vehicle. He received a 90-day jail sentence along with three years of probation, including one year of house arrest.

While Hunter Sr. missed his son’s recent Heisman presentation in New York, he was granted permission to attend the NFL Draft in Green Bay, where Travis was chosen second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The young athlete has attracted attention as a top prospect, with many expecting him to be selected early in the upcoming NFL Draft.
