King Charles Shares Rare Update on His Health After Cancer Diagnosis
King Charles III Reports Improved Health During Conversation with a Cancer Survivor
King Charles III has shared that his health has significantly improved since his diagnosis last year. During a walkabout in Newmarket, England, with Queen Camilla, the monarch candidly discussed his condition with a local resident.
The king, who underwent surgery for a benign enlarged prostate in February 2024, told Lee Harman he was feeling much better and described his health issue as “just one of those things.” Harman, 54, mentioned that he informed Charles about overcoming his own battle with cancer, to which the king responded positively.
In the February announcement, Buckingham Palace revealed that Charles was diagnosed with cancer following his surgery. The palace emphasized that his disclosure aimed to raise awareness and foster understanding about cancer worldwide.
Although officials have not specified the type of cancer diagnosed, Charles was hospitalized in March due to side effects from his treatment but resumed official engagements by April, appearing in good spirits at Windsor Castle.
While seldom discussing his health publicly, a royal aide shared in May that Charles is managing his condition well, emphasizing that advances in medicine allow him to live as normally as possible and continue his duties.
