Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Step-Grandson Killed in Accident
Dog the Bounty Hunter is mourning the devastating loss of his 13-year-old step-grandson, Anthony Zecca, who was accidentally shot and killed by his father, Gregory Zecca, in a tragic incident. The accident happened in their apartment in Naples, Florida, on Saturday night. According to authorities, the shooting is believed to have been a freak accident, and the investigation is ongoing with no arrests made thus far.
Dog, whose real name is Duane Chapman, and his wife Francie Frane released a statement expressing their grief: “We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony.”
The couple, married since September 2021, shared a bond formed through shared loss. Francie lost her first husband, Bob, to cancer just six months before Dog’s previous wife, Beth Chapman, passed away from throat cancer. Francie explained that their shared pain strengthened their connection: “We understood the pain that the other one was feeling and helped each other through it.”
Dog and Francie also bond over their experiences with tragedy, having supported each other through the loss of loved ones. Dog, a father to 13 children from six relationships, married Francie after her own loss, and they have built a life together amid their shared grief.
Dog briefly discussed Francie’s children on “The Dr. Oz Show,” mentioning her two sons who are hunters—tracking and bow hunting—and how she integrated into his life and work as a bounty hunter.
