Pete DeJoy New CEO of Astronomer After Byron’s ‘Kiss Cam’ Fiasco

Interim Leadership at Astronomer Following Viral Coldplay Concert Incident

A senior executive from Brooklyn has stepped into the role of interim CEO at Astronomer amid an ongoing investigation into recent misconduct allegations. Pete DeJoy, formerly the company’s Chief Product Officer, has replaced former CEO Andy Byron, who is currently on leave.

The company launched an inquiry after Byron and HR Chief Kristin Cabot were seen publicly displaying affection on the “kiss cam” during a Coldplay concert. The moment quickly spread online, revealing that both were reportedly married to other people and sparking widespread attention.

Pete DeJoy, founder of Astronomer, was part of the team that established the company in 2017.

DeJoy, who graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine, joined Astronomer shortly after college and has played a key role in developing its offerings. Promoted to Chief Product Officer in early 2023, he previously held the position of Senior Vice President.

The company has stated that its leadership is expected to exemplify high standards of behavior and accountability. As of now, neither DeJoy nor Cabot has been removed from the company’s leadership team on its website.

The investigation into Byron and Cabot’s conduct remains ongoing, and it is unclear how long DeJoy will serve as interim CEO. Meanwhile, Byron and Cabot have not publicly addressed the incident.
