Man United Legend Eyes Rashford Reunion with Record-Breaking Offer Despite Past Fallout

Former Manchester United Manager Eyes a Return for Marcus Rashford with a Record-Breaking Offer

Despite past tensions, one of Rashford’s former managers is reportedly interested in bringing him back to the club with a significantly lucrative offer. Manchester United’s star forward, Marcus Rashford, has been linked with a transfer after ending his career at Old Trafford last season, citing a desire for a new challenge.

Rashford was loaned to Aston Villa during the second half of the 2024-25 campaign, but Villa decided not to make the move permanent. Although he has returned to United’s training grounds, he is not currently part of the first-team squad.

United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, is eager to move Rashford on and may find support from a former United boss. Jose Mourinho, who managed Rashford for two and a half seasons, has expressed interest in reuniting with him at Turkish club Fenerbahce and is preparing a record-breaking offer, possibly on loan with an option to buy for around €46 million (£53 million).

If completed, this transfer would surpass Fenerbahce’s current record, set by Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri, who cost €20 million (£17.3 million) from Sevilla last year.

Mourinho, now managing Fenerbahce since June last year, guided the team to second place in Turkey last season. Rashford, who scored 138 goals in 426 appearances for Manchester United, had 28 goals during Mourinho’s tenure.
