Sancho’s Agent Holds Juventus Talks to Secure £5M Man United Move
Jadon Sancho’s Agent in Turin to Negotiate Juventus Transfer as Deadlock with Man United Persists
Jadon Sancho’s representative has traveled to Turin in an effort to facilitate a transfer from Manchester United to Juventus, aiming to resolve a financial impasse between the two clubs. The request involves a severance payment of around £5 million, intended to offset Sancho’s hefty weekly wages of £275,000, which he was willing to reduce for the move.
Manchester United is reportedly prepared to accept a fee of about £15 million for the winger, significantly less than the £73 million they paid Borussia Dortmund in 2021. The Italian club is eager to add Sancho to their squad, with general manager Damien Comolli leading negotiations.
Despite some progress, negotiations hit a snag due to Man United’s stance on the severance payment. Sancho’s agent, Emeka Obasi, arrived in Turin to discuss the issue and seek a compromise, hoping to push the deal forward. Sancho has expressed a strong desire to join Juventus, turning down offers from Fenerbahçe.
Sancho, who last played for Manchester United in the Premier League amid a fallout with former manager Erik ten Hag, has been on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea in recent seasons. The winger scored five goals and provided ten assists last season, including in Chelsea’s Conference League victory but was not offered a permanent deal by the Blues.
He remains under contract with Manchester United for one more year, with an option to extend, yet seems unlikely to return to the first team under current management. The ongoing transfer talks highlight Sancho’s determination to exit the club this summer.
