Man United Stars Pay Tribute to Liverpool’s Diogo Jota and Brother at Anfield Memorial

Manchester United Players Pay Tribute to Diogo Jota and His Brother at Anfield Memorial

Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, and Ruben Amorim visited the memorial at Anfield to honor the memory of Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva. Acting on behalf of Manchester United, the players laid flowers and paid their respects.

Fernandes and Dalot had previously celebrated success with Jota when they lifted the Nations League trophy last month after Portugal’s victory over Spain in Munich. Just weeks later, Jota and his brother tragically died in a car accident in northern Spain. Jota, a Liverpool star and Portugal international, was 28 at the time of the crash. His brother, who played for Penafiel in Portugal’s second division, was 25.

The Manchester United representatives, along with Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, arrived at Anfield dressed in black, carrying a wreath and a condolence card reading: “Rest in peace Diogo and Andre, with deepest condolences from everyone at Manchester United.”
