West Ham Nears Signing of Wing-Back Previously Targeted by Crystal Palace and Brighton in £22 Million Deal
West Ham are close to finalizing a transfer for El Hadji Malick Diouf, a wing-back from Slavia Prague. An offer valued at £22 million, plus an additional £5 million in potential add-ons, has been accepted, and the remaining details are currently being finalized.
The club had been looking for a new left-back following Aaron Cresswell’s departure after his contract ended, with Cresswell moving to Stoke City.
Diouf attracted interest from Crystal Palace and Brighton last season but is now expected to join West Ham, a fellow Premier League club. The 20-year-old Senegalese international is scheduled to undergo a medical examination this week.
In related transfer news, Roma has increased discussions with Brighton over striker Evan Ferguson, who spent last season on loan at West Ham.
