Child predator among 300+ arrested during ICE raid on cannabis farm
ICE Raid at California Cannabis Farm Leads to Over 300 Arrests and Child Rescue
Federal authorities conducted a significant raid on a cannabis farm in Ventura County, California, resulting in the arrest of more than 300 illegal immigrants. The raid at Glass House Farms, one of the largest in the state’s history, netted 319 apprehensions, including the rescue of 14 children from potential labor exploitation and trafficking.
During the operation, law enforcement discovered that one man in custody had a criminal record that included attempted child exploitation, kidnapping, attempted rape, and prior convictions for attempted molestation. The individual had been sentenced to seven years for kidnapping and attempted rape. The children rescued are from Mexico and Honduras, and authorities are reviewing the criminal backgrounds of all detainees.
The farm is under investigation for possible violations of child labor laws, as it was found to have children working there, some as young as 14 years old, alongside an individual with a violent criminal history.
The operation faced resistance from protesters, leading to clashes with law enforcement. Protesters waved Mexican flags and confronted federal agents, with some violence reported. During the chaos, law enforcement officers were assaulted, and there were reports of gunfire directed towards agents, who used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
In response to the violence, former President issued a statement supporting law enforcement, condemning the protesters and authorizing ICE to take necessary precautions during future operations to ensure officer safety. He emphasized the importance of protecting law enforcement personnel from attacks during such raids.
