Savannah Guthrie Opens Up About Divorce: ‘It’s Horrible and Sad’

Savannah Guthrie Shares Rare Reflection on Her “Horrible” Divorce

Savannah Guthrie's Timeline With Ex-Husband Mark Orchard

In a rare disclosure, Savannah Guthrie opened up about her divorce from her first husband, Mark Orchard, which took place in 2009. She explained that she deliberately chose not to publicly discuss the painful breakup, which she described as horrible and heartbreaking.

During a recent podcast interview, Guthrie emphasized her need for personal boundaries, sharing that her 2024 book Mostly What God Does omits many intimate details to protect her privacy. She remarked, “It was too personal and too embarrassing to share all the gory details.”

The seasoned journalist acknowledged that she faced adversity but prefers to keep certain struggles private. She said, “I don’t want to tell you why my feet are burning on the pavement or how many blisters I had,” illustrating her desire to shield herself from oversharing.

Guthrie, now married to Michael Feldman since 2014, with whom she has two children, Vale and Charley, also addressed any skepticism about her life’s challenges. She reassured fans that respecting her boundaries has been well-received, saying, “Most interviewers respected that boundary, and I appreciate that.”

Despite her past difficulties, Guthrie expressed contentment with her current life, emphasizing the importance of maintaining her privacy while sharing the parts she feels comfortable with.
