Nic Vansteenberghe’s Mom Calls Him Out for Sex on Camera | Love Island USA
“Love Island USA” Star Nic Vansteenberghe Receives Mother’s Warning Over Public Intimacy
Nic Vansteenberghe, a contestant on Love Island USA, was reprimanded by his mother after being caught engaging in sexual activity on the show. During a recent episode set in Fiji, her mother confronted him, questioning, “Nicolas, in public like that?”
His sister also addressed the matter, sharing on TikTok, “We’ve seen you in the sheets. The cameras caught the night-time moments.” Nic had been intimate twice with his former partner, Cierra Ortega, with both instances occurring under the covers while others nearby were asleep.
In response to their remarks, Nic said, “Oh, sorry about that,” but claimed the act was not in what he considered “public,” adding, “We move on from that.”
The show’s audience knew of Ortega’s departure last Sunday, which was announced as being for “personal reasons.” The timing of her leaving followed online resurfacing of her past use of an anti-Asian slur.
This incident sparked calls from fans for her removal, similar to Yulissa Escoba, who exited in June after her previous racist comments went viral. Ortega later issued an apology on Instagram, admitting her use of the slur was “incredibly offensive” and promising to act differently in the future.
Since Ortega’s departure, Nic has been paired with Olandria Carthen. His mother expressed her delight for the new couple, despite her disapproval of his previous sexual behavior. She shared her support for Nic and Olandria, who are now finalists on the current season of the show.
