DeSantis Comments on Elon Musk’s Political Endeavor

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis believes Elon Musk could influence the country’s direction, but dismisses the idea of creating a new political party. During a press conference, he stated that Washington needs a complete overhaul, but a third party wouldn’t solve the core issues.

While praising Musk as one of history’s most innovative entrepreneurs and commending his efforts to support Republicans and reduce government waste, DeSantis advised Musk to focus on constitutional amendments like balanced budget and term limits instead of starting a new party. He emphasized that these amendments, supported by numerous states through Article V of the Constitution, could significantly impact the nation’s future.

DeSantis highlighted that efforts to implement a balanced budget amendment are already underway in several states and that Musk’s backing would greatly influence these initiatives. He stressed that these amendments could help alter the country’s fiscal trajectory without relying solely on electoral outcomes.

Regarding Musk’s recent political moves, DeSantis maintained that engaging the political process through amendments and state actions could have a far-reaching impact, possibly more so than founding a new party or merely electing better candidates. He believes that harnessing Article V and state-level initiatives could effectively steer the country in a more sustainable direction.
