Noni Madueke Approaching Chelsea Exit for Arsenal

Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Noni Madueke decided to leave Chelsea and transfer to Arsenal. The move, valued at approximately £52 million, is nearing completion after agreements on personal terms for a five-year contract.

The transfer was driven by Madueke himself, with the player expressing his desire to join the London rivals. Maresca explained, “Noni is in contact with a new club, and I believe he will leave in the next few hours. He made the decision himself—no one forced him.”

Despite Madueke’s potential, his departure raises eyebrows due to the competition at Arsenal. His preferred position on the right is currently occupied by Bukayo Saka, although Madueke is versatile enough to play on the left side as well. The winger has been a key player for Chelsea, featuring prominently over the past season and playing in their Club World Cup squad.

The move proceeds amid Chelsea’s preparations for their upcoming final. Madueke’s departure signals a significant shift, as the club looks to refine its squad, including the arrival of 18-year-old Palmeiras wonderkid Estevao Willian, who impressed with a spectacular goal in his debut against Chelsea.

While Madueke has been linked with Arsenal throughout the transfer window, Chelsea’s manager had earlier indicated he was open to the player leaving if he was unhappy. Maresca noted, “If players want to leave, it’s difficult for both the club and the manager. Noni decided to leave, and we respect his choice.”

Madueke, known for his left-footed ability, can play on either wing and has featured on both sides for Chelsea. He is expected to compete with the likes of Gabriel Martinelli for a starting spot at Arsenal next season.

Madueke had been with Chelsea’s squad ahead of the Club World Cup final, indicating his importance to the team before the move to Arsenal materializes.
