Driver Missing After Tractor-Trailer Falls from Delaware Memorial Bridge

Early Friday morning, a tractor-trailer without a trailer detached from the roadway and crashed into the Delaware River after falling off the Delaware Memorial Bridge. The incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. when the vehicle crossed multiple lanes on I-295, struck a concrete barrier, and plunged into the water, creating a large gap in the barrier.

Emergency responders, including coast guard units, dive teams, and local fire crews, continue to search the waters for the driver. It remains unclear whether anyone else was inside the truck at the time of the accident. Authorities are investigating how the crash occurred, but preliminary information suggests no other vehicles were involved.
