Nottingham Forest Names Edu Gasper as New Global Head of Football
Nottingham Forest Appoints Ex-Arsenal Director Edu Gaspar as Global Head of Football
Nottingham Forest have officially announced the hiring of Edu Gaspar as their new Global Head of Football, a role created to oversee the club’s football operations. Gaspar, who previously served as Arsenal’s sporting director, takes on this senior leadership position at the Reds.
The move surprised many Arsenal supporters in November when reports emerged that Gaspar was departing from his role at the Emirates. During his time at Arsenal, he was instrumental in securing key signings such as Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, contributing significantly to the club’s recent competitive resurgence.
Gaspar’s extensive football background includes roles at SC Corinthians Paulista, the Brazilian National Team, and Arsenal. Notably, he played a vital part in Brazil’s 2019 Copa América victory as General Coordinator. His appointment at Nottingham Forest reflects his reputation for strategic and innovative football management.
Club owner Evangelos Marinakis expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We are very pleased to welcome Edu to our football family. His global experience and winning mentality are aligned with our goal to build a strong and sustainable international football platform.”
Gaspar commented on his new role, saying, “I am excited for this new chapter and honored by the trust placed in me. This project aligns with my values of innovation and long-term planning. I look forward to developing a competitive, sustainable football model.”
His appointment marks a significant step for Nottingham Forest as they aim to strengthen their football operations and expand their international presence.
