Storm Chasers Get Engaged Amidst a Tornado in South Dakota
In an extraordinary display of thrill-seeking romance, two storm enthusiasts exchanged vows during a severe weather event. Bryce Shelton proposed to Paige Berdomas as a powerful EF-3 tornado loomed nearby, capturing a moment that combines passion for weather and love.
Shelton, who kept the ring hidden for weeks, chose the dramatic backdrop of a swirling tornado for his proposal. Berdomas recalled, “It was the most beautiful tornado I’ve ever seen,” and happily accepted amid the storm’s chaos.
The couple, united by their shared obsession with severe weather, met while chasing storms and eventually started dating after their previous relationships ended. Their mutual interests include engaging with a YouTube audience and pursuing storm chasing adventures together.
Berdomas described their approach: “Our chasing style is similar, and we enjoy interacting with others online.” Shelton revealed he had planned the proposal for nearly five months, waiting for the right moment amidst a piece of turbulent weather that finally arrived on a perfect day in South Dakota.
According to Shelton, “I waited 18 weeks for the perfect opportunity, and it just happened during this storm. South Dakota is our favorite state, and it all came together beautifully.” After the proposal, they took a keepsake photo with a storm-chasing friend, Brandon Copic, who suggested capturing the moment.
The day’s stormy grandeur and their love story now blend into one of the most memorable moments in storm chasing history.
