Remembering Bobby Sherman: A Life of Music, Service, and Inspiration

The world has bid farewell to Bobby Sherman, an iconic figure renowned for his contributions to music, television, and community service. Born Robert Kabat Sherman Jr. on July 22, 1943, he passed away peacefully at his home in Encino, Los Angeles, on June 24, 2025, at the age of 81, after a brave fight against stage 4 cancer.

Sherman rose to fame in the mid-1960s with his appearance on ABC’s “Shindig!”, captivating audiences with his boyish look, mop-top haircut, and magnetic charm. His musical career flourished with hits like “Little Woman,” which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100, along with other chart-toppers such as “La La La (If I Had You)” and “Julie, Do Ya Love Me.” During this era, he became a household name, gracing magazine covers and popular merchandise.

He also starred as Jeremy Bolt on the TV series “Here Come the Brides” from 1968 to 1970, further solidifying his status as a teen idol. Recognized by TV Guide as one of the “25 Greatest Teen Idols,” Sherman’s popularity was unmatched.

Beyond his entertainment career, Sherman dedicated himself to public service. In the 1970s, he earned certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and served as a reserve police officer with both the Los Angeles Police Department and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. He was passionate about teaching CPR and first aid, often donating his salary to community initiatives. Additionally, he co-founded a children’s foundation in Ghana, focused on providing education and nutrition to underprivileged youth.

Even in his final days, Sherman valued his connection with fans. His wife, Brigette Poublon Sherman, shared that he cherished fan letters, and she often read them aloud to him. Their nearly three-decade marriage was described as a “fairytale,” filled with love and mutual support.

He is survived by his wife Brigette, their two sons Tyler and Christopher, and six grandchildren. His legacy continues through the countless lives he touched—first as a beloved entertainer, then as a compassionate public servant.
