Blake Lively Sues Media Figures After Justin Baldoni Drops Taylor Swift Order
Blake Lively Targets Media Figures in Legal Dispute with Justin Baldoni
Actress Blake Lively has recently subpoenaed prominent media personalities Candace Owens and Perez Hilton as part of her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni. TMZ revealed that Lively suspects Owens and Hilton collaborated with Baldoni to use their extensive online platforms to smear her reputation.
Owens, who learned of the subpoena just before the story broke, publicly described the move as a “hit,” asserting she has not been served with any legal documents and has not discussed the matter with her lawyer. She also denied receiving financial compensation for her opinions, emphasizing her independence.
Hilton, for his part, dismissed the court order via social media, stating he was unaware of the legal filing until TMZ reported it and had not yet been served. Representatives for Baldoni have yet to comment on the subpoenas.
Legal Strategies and Celebrity Involvement
The legal developments follow Lively’s efforts to quash a subpoena Baldoni had sought to issue to her close friend Taylor Swift. Baldoni accused Lively of leveraging her influence to control the direction of her film “It Ends With Us,” asserting that she used her connections to shape the project unfairly.
In May, Baldoni unexpectedly dropped his investigation into Swift, asserting that when information is voluntarily shared, subpoenas are unnecessary. It was later reported that Swift’s father had allegedly leaked private texts and threats Lively made to Swift, potentially influencing the case’s course.
Upcoming Court Date
The lawsuit now has a scheduled trial date set for March 2026. Meanwhile, Lively is also suing Baldoni for sexual harassment, while his countersuit for defamation and extortion was dismissed. The case continues to unfold amid high-profile celebrity involvement, with the judge granting Baldoni access to Swift’s private messages with Lively.
