Lionel Messi experienced a challenging exit from the FIFA Club World Cup as his team, Inter Miami, was overwhelmed with a 4-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Despite the loss, Messi received comfort from former colleagues, including Ousmane Dembele, and other familiar faces in the tunnel after the game.

Messi, who played the entire match, was visibly disappointed but found moments of camaraderie with friends. Notably, PSG manager Luis Enrique, during a warm exchange, smiled and touched Messi’s hair, a gesture that appeared to lift his spirits. Messi also shared emotional moments with Gigi Donnarumma and Presnel Kimpembe, former PSG teammates, in the tunnel.

After the game, Messi and Dembele, who entered as a substitute, walked arm-in-arm and exchanged shirts, symbolizing mutual respect and friendship. Dembele shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing his happiness to see Messi again and praising him as the greatest of all time.

Although Miami’s run in the tournament ended earlier than hoped, they had exceeded expectations by advancing beyond the group stage, finishing with a win and two draws. The team drew 0-0 with Al Ahly, beat Porto 2-1, and played to a 2-2 draw with Palmeiras.
