Elon Musk Slams ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ as ‘Utterly Insane’ — Will This Send Him Over the Edge?
Elon Musk Criticizes Trump-Backed Legislation, Warns of Economic and Political Risks
Elon Musk has publicly expressed strong opposition to a proposed legislative bill supported by former President Donald Trump. Using social media, Musk described the “Big Beautiful Bill” as “utterly insane” and “political suicide,” warning that it would have detrimental effects on the American economy and strategic interests.
The bill, which is set for a key Senate vote, faces criticism from Musk, who argued it would lead to job losses and harm future industries. He emphasized that it favors outdated industries with subsidies while damaging emerging sectors vital for the country’s progress.
Musk also warned that the legislation raises the debt ceiling by $5 trillion and could accelerate the country’s descent into debt dependency, describing it as putting America “in the fast lane to debt slavery.” This critique followed his previous fallout with Trump earlier in the month, which was sparked by disagreements over legislative priorities and involved inflammatory remarks, including accusations related to Jeffrey Epstein and impeachment calls.
Despite the tensions, Musk later apologized to Trump, who indicated that reconciliation might still be possible. Meanwhile, Trump launched a verbal attack on Saturday night, criticizing a senator for not supporting the bill and claiming that the legislation could prove disastrous for the nation’s future.
