Anne Burrell’s Final Instagram Post Featured a Sweet Photo Just Days Before Her Passing

Celebrity chef Anne Burrell was found unconscious and unresponsive in her Brooklyn apartment early Tuesday morning, around 7:50 a.m., and was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 55 years old.

Just days prior to her death, on June 12, Burrell shared her final Instagram post. It featured a selfie with Elizabeth Eaton Rosenthal, known as The Green Lady, an 84-year-old Brooklyn resident.

In her caption, Burrell described running into Rosenthal in her neighborhood, noting, “I’ve been keeping an eye out for her… I may or may not have followed her down the street for a bit. She is just lovely!!!”

Rosenthal responded warmly, expressing her enjoyment of meeting Burrell and inviting her to visit her garden to pick figs when they ripen in September, sharing her love and hope to see her again soon.

Burrell’s family confirmed her passing later that day. They praised her as a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend whose smile lit up every room. Her warmth touched millions around the world, and her spirit remains eternal despite her departure.
