Cristiano Ronaldo Signs record-Breaking Two-Year Contract with Al-Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo has committed to a new two-year deal with Al-Nassr, reportedly earning the most lucrative contract in sports history with a base salary of approximately £492 million over the term. The deal extends his stay beyond his 42nd birthday, with a daily salary of around £488,000.
The agreement includes a signing bonus of about £24.5 million, which could increase to £38 million if he extends into the second year. Additionally, Ronaldo has been granted a 15% ownership stake in the club valued at roughly £33 million. If he secures bonuses such as additional golden boot awards or league titles, his total earnings could surpass half a billion pounds.
In addition to the financial perks, Ronaldo and his family will have a team of 16 staff, including drivers, housekeepers, chefs, gardeners, and security personnel, all paid for by the club at an estimated cost of £1.4 million.
Following months of speculation, Ronaldo reaffirmed his commitment to Al-Nassr after a successful season, scoring 35 goals in 41 matches and marking his second consecutive season as top scorer in the Saudi Pro League. His career total now stands at 938 goals in 111 appearances with the club, inching closer to the 1,000-goal milestone.
Ronaldo’s contract also includes perks like use of a private jet valued at £4 million and lucrative sponsorship deals with Saudi companies, potentially reaching £60 million. Rumors about his possible departure intensified after a cryptic social media post, but he clarified his return for the upcoming season following Portugal’s Nations League success.
His managerial situation also changes with the announcement that Stefano Pioli will leave the club, marking the fourth coach to exit since Ronaldo’s arrival. Despite recent upheavals, Ronaldo expressed his enthusiasm for the future, posting on social media: “A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together.”
