Charlie Woods earned a spot in the upcoming U.S. Junior Amateur after winning a three-player playoff at Eagle Trace Golf Club in Coral Springs, Florida. The 16-year-old shot a closing score of 1-under par 71, but a bogey on his final hole resulted in a tie for fifth place, leading to the playoff.

Five players qualified directly for the tournament, with others earning alternate positions. The official field includes Arth Sinha, Lucas Gimenez, Wylie Inman, and Sohan Patel, with Crowe and Marigliano named as alternates for the event scheduled for July 21–26 at Trinity Forest in Dallas.

The qualification process continues with a 36-hole stroke-play qualifier involving 264 competitors, from which the top 64 will advance to match play.

Starting on the No. 10 hole, Woods was 3-under after eight holes before a bogey on the 18th. He then made six consecutive pars, finishing with a bogey-birdie-bogey sequence that forced the playoff for the final qualifying spot.

Charlie Woods previously missed the cut in his debut at the U.S. Junior Amateur last summer. His father, Tiger Woods, is a legendary figure in golf, with three U.S. Junior Amateur titles and 15 major championships to his name, including three U.S. Opens, as well as 82 PGA Tour wins—tied for the most all-time.

Recently, Charlie won his first junior tournament at the Team TaylorMade Invitational at Streamsong Resort in Florida, finishing with a remarkable 15-under total over three days. He competed against some of the top-ranked junior players in the country, demonstrating his ability to go head-to-head with older, college-bound competitors by accumulating 25 birdies and an eagle. Despite occasional mistakes, including a triple bogey, his aggressive style highlighted his talent and confidence, confirming he is a rising star in junior golf.

As Woods progresses in his competitive journey, such performances signal his potential. With college coaches now allowed to reach out, the spotlight on his development will only grow.
