Women’s Euros Ticket Sales Skyrocket! Over 500,000 Tickets Sold Before the Big Kick-Off!
Women’s Euros Ticket Sales Near Those of the Men’s Tournament, with Over 500,000 Tickets Sold
The upcoming Women’s European Championship in Switzerland is experiencing ticket sales nearly matching the 2022 tournament, despite smaller stadiums and a lower overall demand compared to previous editions.
Already, over 500,000 tickets have been sold for this summer’s event, approaching the 575,000 tickets sold during the 2022 tournament held in England, where the Lionesses’ successful campaign contributed to high attendance.
This achievement is notable given Switzerland’s smaller stadium capacities and generally lower football interest compared to the UK. For example, England’s first match against France next Saturday will be held at Letzigrund Stadium, seating 30,000, whereas the opening game at Euro 2022 took place at Old Trafford with a capacity of nearly 69,000.
According to industry analysts, the ticket sales trend illustrates a more even distribution across matches. Only 15% of tickets have been sold for the final in Basel, indicating growing excitement for various games, not just the concluding fixture.
Just over 500,000 tickets have already been sold for this summer’s European Championships
The sum is closely behind the 2022 tournament, which featured larger stadiums
Experts highlight that total ticket sales may surpass those of 2022, despite smaller venues. The final in Basel is sold at a stadium with a capacity of 30,000, compared to the nearly 70,000 at Old Trafford last time. The widespread interest across multiple matches indicates strong growth and increased maturity of women’s football, driven by more fans attending games.
